1969 - Kent, Washington
Kent City Hall was designed as a prominent focal point for local city government. Housed in a building of 35,000 square feet, space is provided for city offices, council chambers, municipal courts, and police headquarters and jail.
The materials for the City Hall were selected for their sense of dignity, strength and permanence. Outside, brick masonry construction and a metal roof evoke a solid appearance. Inside, the brick that is carried through from the outside is enhanced with a carved sculpted surface in the lobby. The exposed heavy timber wood structure provides a warm yet strong appearance and a friendly sense of stability to the people of the community.
