Fire Station 17 opens

Bassetti announces two new principals

Eric Lanciault AIA returns to Bassetti after practicing as sole proprietor of Office oA in southwest Washington. His award-winning Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vancouver has been recognized for its sophisticated use of cast-in-place concrete. Other recent projects include Fire Station 10 in Vancouver and the Anatomical Sciences building at the University of Western States in Portland.

Nancy Staub Callery AIA, LEED AP has focused on sustainable design for educational and community facilities. Nancy provided leadership on the landmark West Seattle High School, the new Chief Sealth High/Denny Middle International Schools and the expansion of Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart. Nancy's commitment to Northwest Indian communities helped shape the Quileute Tribe's Akalat Center in La Push.

Goats clear hillside at Denny/Sealth
April 13, 2010

The Seattle School District is using goats to clear blackberry bushes and brush from a hillside near Denny International Middle School / Chief Sealth International High School. Greg Hepp AIA, LEED AP spoke to Korean architects, school administrators, planners, and government officials about sustainable school design. Greg was a keynote speaker at the Seoul National University of Technology Ninth International Housing Symposium and presenter at the Korean Ministry of Education Sustainable School Symposium.

Lorne McConachie AIA presented to educators, planners, and Ministry of Education officials in Taiwan at the 2010 Microsoft School of the Future Innovative School Forum. His presentations included Architecture for Achievement: Building Patterns for Learning Environments; A Path to the Sustainable Future; and Space Matters: Designing a High School Library for Learning.

The Public Value of Sacred Places

The Public Value of Sacred Places was a half-day workshop presented by Historic Seattle and the national organization Partners for Sacred Places.  Bassetti's Don Brubeck was one of the “distinguished group”, as was our client, Rev. Paul Collins from Trinity Parish Episcopal Church.
