2005 - Woodinville, Washington
A pilot project for the Washington State School Sustainability Protocol, Cottage Lake Elementary uses site orientation, extensive day-lighting, natural ventilation and a water recovery system as strategies to reduce energy usage and increase occupant comfort. Separate buildings connected by covered walkways make up the campus, with a central amphitheater to accommodate performance and classroom activities in an outdoor setting.
