Since 1977, Lorne has been dedicated to creating educational spaces that spark the academic, social, physical, and cultural development of children. From new buildings to the modernization of historic structures, Lorne’s designs focus on personalized, collaborative spaces that support engaged communities and sustainable connections to place. At the forefront of educational design reform, Lorne’s designs have won acclaim for their innovation, impact on learning, and civic design excellence. In addition, Lorne has received awards for his work revitalizing historic schools as centers for 21st century learning. Lorne leads the firm in Trauma Informed Design research, presenting his research around the Pacific Northwest and encouraging clients to embrace Trauma Informed Design best practices in their spaces.
