Bassetti was awarded this project to be delivered via progressive design-build -- the first school project in Washington to use this delivery method. The new school includes core learning environments, a science suite, community spaces, athletic facilities, administrative areas, special services, and support spaces.

The new high school’s design focuses on biophilic design and material concepts by tracking embodied carbon and implementing naturalistic design language. The school uses a small footprint on the site to reduce the exterior envelope, but it does so without sacrificing abundant windows, skylights, views, and natural ventilation. Site-harvested wood and other natural design elements are used throughout the building to connect the users to the outdoors.
