Faced with demolition of their existing administrative offices, the Seattle Chamber Music Society began its search for a space that would allow for the camaraderie that comes with rehearsing and sharing social time and meals together. Bassetti’s design team was brought on board to bring Artistic Director James Ehnes’ vision of a new multipurpose space to life.

Together Bassetti and SCMS stakeholders tried test-fits on several locations, eventually settling into a space at 2 Union Square in downtown Seattle. This was a studs-out, full service tenant improvement and new furnishings. The finished center features a large 50- seat living room style performance space with a music library, a dedicated rehearsal room, and a second rehearsal room that serves multiple functions. In addition to music spaces there are eight workstations to accommodate staff and a catering kitchen.
