Outreach + collaboration
outreach + collaborationn
We listen.

Successful projects grow out of community engagement and the consensus developed in that process. We focus on inclusive, transparent communication that enables community members to help develop design goals and provide meaningful input. We listen and encourage lively dialogue. We strive to hear all voices by developing strategies to reach stakeholders from a broad range of cultures, languages, schedules, or childcare needs. Our collaborative goal is to shape designs that reflect the rich diversity of the communities we serve.
Part of our community outreach involves assessment and analysis of local context – both physical and sociological. By incorporating this research into our designs, we seek to build on community heritage, enhance engagement opportunities, connect to the natural environment, enrich biodiversity, and repair and extend infrastructure within the neighborhoods in which we work.
When working with communities, our goals include providing integrated environmental education and research experiences to the community, advancing public understanding, connecting with nature, developing scientific knowledge and skills, and promoting stewardship of the Pacific Northwest ecosystems. Making these goals realities within a project requires not just an invitation to the community, but full engagement of all its members.
